Renee Moorman Scholarship Awarded
The Tift Regional Medical Center Foundation recently presented Kristy Sharp Walker, LPN on Medical 1 West with the Renee Moorman Scholarship. The Renee Moorman Scholarship, is a $1,500 award, which is awarded to an LPN who is pursuing their RN degree; this scholarship was implemented to help with expenses associated with school. The scholarship is funded by Dr. and Mrs. Larry Moorman in honor of the late Renee H. Moorman, due to Renee’s passion for nursing.
Kristy has been an LPN at Tift Regional for one year and her desire to become a nurse began as a young child. Kristy says, “I am truly passionate about nursing for many different reasons. I love working in an environment where I can help care for people with my hands and my knowledge. I am passionate about the human spirit, and do my best to make a difference in the lives of others. I strive to be the patient’s advocate and provide emotional, physical and psychological support, and even on the most basic level, to be a friend.” Kristy is currently enrolled at Abraham Baldwin College in the Bridge Program where she is pursuing her RN degree.
